Butterfly Valve

A butterfly valve controls gas flow by means of a disc-shaped plate rotating around a shaft inside the valve body; a rotation of approximately 90° achieves full opening to full closing. Butterfly valves feature low flow resistance, quick operation, and a compact structure, with significant cost advantages especially in large-diameter pipelines.

Although their sealing performance is generally not as tight as that of ball valves, excellent shut‑off can be achieved using high-performance soft seals such as multi‑layer seals or rubber linings. Therefore, butterfly valves are commonly used in ventilation and dust removal systems, gas main pipelines, flue gas ducts, and low-pressure air systems for flow regulation, on–off control, or low-pressure shut‑off duties.

Product description

Main Features

· Compact and lightweight: Much smaller in size and lighter in weight than gate valves or globe valves of the same diameter, with easy installation.
· Quick and labor-saving operation: Only a 90° rotation is required to fully open or close, enabling fast and simple operation.
· Low flow resistance and energy saving: The flow passage is unobstructed in full open position, resulting in low flow resistance and low pressure loss.
· High economy for large diameters: Particularly suitable for large-diameter pipelines (above DN80) with significant cost advantages.
· Dual regulation and shut‑off functions: Flow can be adjusted by controlling the opening degree, and soft-seal types can also be used for low-pressure shut‑off.
