Hydrogen Dehydration

Hydrogen dehydration units are mainly used to remove trace moisture from hydrogen gas, preventing ice blockage or equipment corrosion caused by freezing in subsequent low-temperature processes such as liquid hydrogen production, chemical reactions or fuel cell applications.

Its core technology generally adopts the adsorption drying method: wet hydrogen passes through a tower filled with high-performance desiccants (such as activated alumina or molecular sieves), where moisture is selectively adsorbed, significantly lowering the hydrogen dew point to below -40°C or even -70°C.

Hydrogen Dehydration Technology

This technology utilizes the different adsorption characteristics of molecular sieves toward hydrogen and water vapor. Hydrogen gas passes through an adsorption bed at a certain temperature to separate hydrogen from water. The adsorber is then regenerated through pressure reduction, heating and desorption to discharge water, preparing it for the next adsorption cycle.
